About us
Driving Europe’s Solar Independence through Innovation
The European Union has set ambitious goals for a clean energy future: achieving full climate neutrality by 2050 while securing its own energy supply. Under the Net-Zero Industry Act (NZIA), Europe aims to manufacture at least 40% of its clean tech deployment needs domestically by 2030.
Solar energy is key to reaching this goal. However, Europe currently faces a significant strategic challenge: the vast majority of solar panels installed across the continent are imported, leaving domestic manufacturing covering only a tiny fraction of total demand.
To build a resilient energy supply, lower reliance on external markets, and create high-tech green jobs, Europe needs to scale up its own manufacturing capabilities. RECLAIM-PV, a new Innovation action under Horizon Europe, is addressing these challenges.
What RECLAIM-PV Will Realize
To bridge the gap between research and mass market deployment, RECLAIM-PV will deliver tangible industrial hardware, automated production lines, and real-world pilot demonstrations:
Advanced Manufacturing
Automated production, precision assembly and AI-driven quality control to scale industrial manufacturing.
Lightweight PV Modules
Scalable Solarface® composite modules using recyclable materials and sustainable resin systems.
Real-World Applications
Validation across BAPV, BIPV and VIPV applications.
Our Objectives
RECLAIM-PV aims to make lightweight solar module manufacturing more competitive, efficient, sustainable, and resilient in Europe.
Lower Production Costs
Reduce manufacturing costs by 20–30% through optimized materials and processes.
Boost Productivity & Automation
Increase factory throughput by 30% with automated assembly and AI-driven quality control.
Enhance Sustainability
Develop recyclable, eco-designed modules for easier disassembly and recycling.
Strengthen EU Value Chains
Build a resilient European supply chain and reduce dependence on non-EU suppliers.
